Returning to New York for its eighth appearance, Harlem Hafla is an exciting day of belly dance workshops and performances---with soul! Harlem Hafla brings daytime dance workshops and an evening stage performance with an accomplished lineup of dancers, Uptown!
Our headliner this year is Master Performer and Instructor, Fernanda Costa!
The workshops, led by our headliner, take place at the Harlem School of the Arts (645 Saint Nicholas Avenue NY, NY 10030). Later that evening, an array of accomplished belly dance performers take the stage, with a special performance by our headlining instructor, Fernanda!
Workshops are $40 and show tickets are $25. Everything is $5 off until the end of January! Discounts will be taken off at checkout.
Please note that all tickets are will-call and we do not give out paper tickets. Also, we do not give out refunds after the event if you cannot make the event.

Bellydance is a powerful language of emotion and storytelling. In this workshop, we will dive into the elegance and depth of classical Arabic songs, blending traditional essence with a subtle modern touch. This class emphasizes a deep connection with the music, honoring the history and soul of bellydance, while inviting the dancer to move with authenticity, emotion, and a modern artistic perspective.

A high-energy workshop focused on the power and precision of drum solo in bellydance. This class will explore sharp accents, dynamic combinations, and strong isolations, developing clarity, control, and rhythmic awareness.
Through detailed musical understanding of percussion patterns and breaks, dancers will learn how to translate the drum’s intensity into confident, grounded, and expressive movement. The workshop emphasizes strength, musical precision, and stage presence, while encouraging personal style and powerful interpretation. This is an energizing experience designed to connect body and rhythm, allowing dancers to embody the drum with confidence and authority.
